Did You Know? It takes 25 gallons of water to grow one ear of corn! It is in season in Illinois typically from July until October.
Corn is a good source of fiber that can help with digestion and is naturally low in fat and sodium (salt) free.
Choosing & Storing Corn
For fresh corn with leaves intact, choose those that are green with white to yellow silk inside. You can refrigerate corn for up to 1 to 2 days, so make sure to enjoy it as soon as possible! A 15-ounce can of corn is equivalent to 1 and 3/4 cups of fresh, cooked corn kernels.
