Fun fact: as a plant, a tomato is a fruit - but we eat it like a vegetable!

Tomatoes are high vitamins A and C, and a great source of potassium.

Choosing and Storing Tomatoes

Choose tomatoes with bright, shiny skin (while red is the most common, tomatoes do also come in other colors, such as purple or yellow). Avoid tomatoes that have cuts or other blemishes. Store tomatoes at room temperature for 2-3 days and away from direct sunlight.
