Wash hands with soap and water.
If using canned peas, drain. If using frozen peas, cook, drain, and cool before using. Add peas to bowl.
Mix remaining ingredients in a separate bowl. Pour over peas and gently mix.
Refrigerate salad for at least 2 hours before serving.
If desire to use fresh peas, you must cook them beforehand. Follow these instructions:
1. In a medium-saucepan, add fresh peas and enough water to cover peas.
2. Bring to a boil and cook peas about 6 minutes or until tender.
3. Drain well.
4. Immediately add cold water to cool down peas, drain.
