Ingredients
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
1/8 teaspoon or dash black pepper
1 can (14-15 ounces) green beans, drained
1 can (10 1/4 ounces) condensed tomato soup
2 cups cooked ground meat or canned meat (chopped and drained)
1 egg, beaten
2 cups prepared mashed potatoes
1/2 cup cheese, shredded
Preparation
Wash hands with soap and water.
Gently rub onion under cold running water before preparing ingredients.
Preheat oven at 350 degrees F.
Cook onion in vegetable oil in large skillet until tender.
Add black pepper, green beans, tomato soup, and meat to skillet. Mix gently.
Spray 2-quart casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray. Pour mixture into dish.
Mix egg into prepared potatoes. Spoon potato mixture over other ingredients in casserole dish. Do not mix.
Sprinkle potatoes with cheese.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
Note
To reduce sodium, use reduced sodium or lower sodium tomato soup and green beans, or use 1 3/4 cup fresh, cooked green beans.
