Eat.Move.Save. is like a toolbox that can help you make healthier choices on any budget. In this blog series, we will highlight many of the tools that you can use to build your plan to Eat, Move, and Save in a way that works for you and your family. The first tool we’ll pull from the box is Find Food IL!

If you need a one-stop place to find all the food resources in your area, look no further! The Find Food IL Community Food Map has you covered. Use the Find Food IL map to find places in your community offering free food or meals. You can also find stores and markets that accept SNAP/LINK or WIC coupons. Plus, see the DHS or WIC office nearest to you.

How to find the map:

Go to FindFoodIL.org, or you can choose “Find Food IL” from the menu at the top of the Eat.Move.Save. website.

How to use the map:

  • Enter your zip or choose your city in the top search boxes to go straight to your area on the map.
  • Click on the blue map icon in the top left corner to see all the locations in a list.
  • Use the filter button to narrow your search to certain types of food resources, like food pantries and meal sites, grocery stores, farmers markets, and more.
  • Inside the map, click on the pins for more information about the site, like the hours and days they are open, and if they accept SNAP/LINK and WIC.
  • Click the globe icon at the top right corner to select a different language (English, Spanish, or French).
  • If you need help using the map, you can click the chat icon in the lower right corner to have your questions answered quickly, or email eatmovesave@illinois.edu.

Since you can use the map on your computer, tablet, or phone, it’s easy to access the information from anywhere! The Find Food IL map is just one of the many tools available through Eat.Move.Save. to help you make choices that are right for you and your budget.

We’ll catch you next time to explore other helpful tools in the Eat.Move.Save. toolbox!
